Seminars and Research Presentation Opportunities

A hallmark of the Doctorate, from the very beginning of the program's curriculum, is to offer a training and research program characterized by strong interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary elements.

The Doctorate Program includes multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary seminars to explore the main topics covered by the Program, with the participation of Italian and international scholars.

Political Science Doctoral students also participate annually in national and international training programs, including the "Odisseuro" Summer School, organized with the Universities of Catania and Enna; the "Summer School on European Political Institutions," organized in Marsala by the University of Palermo; and the Summer School organized by the Italian Association of Historians of Political Doctrines.

The Doctorate Program ensures and stimulates the growth of Doctoral students as members of the scientific community through their participation in study conferences and cultural events both in Italy and abroad.

Participation in these initiatives represents an invaluable opportunity to present research findings to a broader scientific community, receive feedback from specialists, network with prestigious researchers and institutions, and stay abreast of the latest developments and research advances in their field and related areas.

In many cases, PhD students also participate as speakers, a tangible sign of recognition of their growing autonomy and scientific expertise.

The PhD program in Political Science also organizes an annual Student Conference—in collaboration with the PhD students themselves and with the PhD program in Public Administration Sciences (also part of the Department of Political and Legal Sciences)—on highly relevant multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary topics, open to Italian and international PhD students.
