The Doctorate is located in the Department of Political and Legal Sciences of the University of Messina, Piazza XX Settembre 4, 98122.
The recently renovated building is equipped with multimedia classrooms, laboratories, and reading rooms with networked computer stations available to doctoral students.
The Scipog Library (approximately 150,000 items) is distinguished by the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary nature of its collections, covering all general and specific topics related to the program, thanks also to important specific collections: "Cingari" (History, Politics, Sociology), "D'Amoja" (History of International Relations), and "Centorrino" (Economics). Users can also access the extensive collections of the University Library.
The University of Messina Library System (SBA) also provides PhD students with access to a large number of national and international scientific journals in print format, as well as the main online journals from leading national publishers (Il Mulino, Laterza, Rubbettino, Editoriale Scientifica, etc.).
PhD students can access the following databases, among others: EBSCO, IL FORO ITALIANO, Info.Leges.it, IUSEXPLORER, TORROSSA, ASTRID (a resource managed by the Foundation for Analysis, Studies, and Research on the Reform of Democratic Institutions and Innovation in Public Administration), RIVISTEWEB, Orbis Bank Focus, ACNP (Italian Catalogue of Periodicals), and AIDA.
The Scipog Department has three reading rooms, one of which is equipped with networked PCs; two reference rooms; and classrooms equipped for lectures.
Doctoral students can use PC workstations for web-based bibliographic research, as well as access the University's SBA computerized system, which ensures access to the University's bibliographic resources 24 hours a day, both from University facilities and via remote access (VPN).
