The Doctoral Program in Political Sciences has awarded an Honorary Doctorate to His Excellency José Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor.
Reelected in 2022, 10 years after his last term, Ramos-Horta delivered a Lectio Doctoralis on the topics of peace and the past and present geopolitical situation in East Timor.
The Lecture was delivered by Professor Giovanni Moschella, Professor of Public Law Institutions and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Political Sciences.
Also present were the Rector, Professor Giovanna Spatari, the Director of the SCIPOG Department, Professor Alessandro Morelli, and the Director General, Dr. Pietro Nuccio.
Also taking part in the ceremony was Monsignor Marco Sprizzi, President of the Labor Office of the Apostolic See, originally from Messina. He previously served as Pontifical Representative with the title of Chargé d'Affaires resident in Timor.
